Quambatook is situated 300 km north west of Melbourne, in Victoria's prime wheat growing region. For the last thirty years it has become known Australia wide as the place to come and witness the mighty sport of
"TRACTOR PULLING."

The History of Tractor Pulling in Australia is only as old as Quambatooks participation , Quambatook was only beaten by a few months by Elmore. the big difference is that Quambatook still pulling strong . The thirty years of pulling  was celebrated on Easter Saturday 2006.

Don't miss  The Australian Tractor Pull Championships, which are held on "EVERY EASTER SATURDAY" original text by Kerry Jobling

The Australian Tractor Pull Championships

Held at Quambatook

Easter Saturday 3rd April 2010

Quambatook Tractor Pullers proudly present the 34th annual Tractor Pull which will feature pulling machines from Western Australia in fierce competition with the Eastern staters. This rivalry promises to be full on in the Mini Modified classes with the inclusion of very keen competitors from the west hyped up to the max and ready to roll. ‘Awesome’ & ’Rockabilly’ crews will no doubt have discussed tactics during the long haul from Perth.

The Pulling program will commence with the vintage tractors, followed by the highly modified Pulling machines, the open class will see Rolls Royce V12, Allison V12 and triple big block chev. engines powering these tractors.  This is only a small part of the great program being offered.   As we have come to expect at this event, there will be great battles in the mini and open mini modified classes.   This year we will see a fire breathing turbine powered machine.   These creations just seem to get better every year.

‘Riverina Screamer’ will be there in the Open class and it is meaner than ever. Smokers will see the new tractor Major Kaboom and the revamped ‘Deere Express’ showing some great performance gains, this will make ‘Deere Experience’ work hard for a win.  In the 2WD Trucks ‘Bizzee Bee’ is back on the track along with ‘Caddy Shack’ and more. Super Modified, Limited Modified, 4WD and 2WD Farm Tractors, Junior Pulling Mowers and the Big Rigs will hook to the sled and show their strength, there is no where else in Australia you can see such a variety in powerful machines giving their all.

The action starts at 1.30pm and continues under lights until approx.10pm.

An evening tea break approximately 6.30pm. allows spectators a chance to get  up close and personal” with the tractors and teams.   This halt in proceedings also allows people to take advantage of the many food and refreshment stalls, along with the side show entertainment for all ages. The track area will be the stage for Mower Pulling action and the TUG A SLED competition, with teams of 8 people attempting to beat the mini sled.

With a country market displaying a variety of stalls, carnival rides for the kids and joy flights over Quambatook and the local area there is definitely something for everyone.

A visit from the Easter Bunny is a feature for the enjoyment of the kids.

Full catering is available throughout the day and evening, bar facilities on site.

A designated ‘dry area’ tops off an already brilliant atmosphere that guarantees your family a safe and relaxing day out!

The purpose built Quambatook Tractor Pulling complex is renowned as the best track for competitors and spectators alike.

The track side embankments are fenced to provide the safest viewing area for all the family, this can be enjoyed as is, or bring along a rug or chair to enhance your days enjoyment.

Over 8 hours of high octane intensity… is a unique experience that cannot be missed.

20 years have past since the new complex was commenced and is an ongoing development, so come and check it out!

 Easter Saturday 3rd April 2010

Big Sled Measurements

Australia is so vast, there is a need for sleds to be built in different areas. This is necessary for the development of the sport. The above link gives some idea of the measurements for a sled. These are a  guideline. At the moment there is only one sled on the Eastern side of Australia which can handle Modified tractors.

The cost of moving this sled to distant pull centres is a limiting factor to the growth of the sport.

If there is any organization or business who would like to gain more information about sleds please contact me and I will pass along more information.
